Consultation with the public, licensees and interested organizations is an important part of the process the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) uses to develop many of the regulatory tools within its regulatory framework. The CNSC welcomes public input on discussion papers and draft documents, and on proposed new regulations or amendments to regulations. Each document is made available for public comment for a specified period of time.

This discussion paper describes the changes the CNSC is planning to make to REGDOC-2.13.2, Import and Export . REGDOC-2.13.2 provides guidance to applicants and licensees who import or export nuclear substances, equipment and information that are listed in the Nuclear Non-proliferation Import and Export Control Regulations. Read the discussion paper and provide your comments.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is proposing to update the General Nuclear Safety and Control Regulations (GNSCR) to add requirements related to safeguards. Specifically, the proposed changes would introduce new requirements for any person either possessing small amounts of nuclear material or engaged in nuclear fuel cycle-related research and development and/or in nuclear-related manufacturing activities.
